The Junior Volunteer Development Program (JVDP) is a youth development program run by CFA volunteers that provides a wide variety of safe, enjoyable and challenging activities for young people aged 11 to 16.

Three of our Senior Volunteer Firefighters that supervise the Juniors are now Certified for working with children.

Brigades provide a balance of activities that cover the four program elements of:

  • Social and recreational development
  • Skill development
  • Personal development
  • Community service through CFA involvement

Juniors are involved in a number of activities including team building activities, practical skills activities, fundraising, first aid, community service, sporting and social activities, and excursions.
